I am at HS and repairs are bieng done and we have had no mention of moving or combining. I did hear of layoffs. Meaning those kids who are unable to function in the general population will be taking their required high school coursework online from 2-6pm. I think this is a great idea! One comment tho, MCThomas is right in stating "they" should get all items out prior to demolishment, but...because of the BOE's decision to limit elementary library staff, materials are walking away NOW! There is no one in elementary libraries full time, the materials sit, are not circulated as they were meant to be, and there is no media clerk full time to accomodate student and teacher needs in the elementary buildings on a full time basis. I am a laid off media clerk. The collection I worked so hard to create, over a span of 10 years, to reflect my building's student needs and the needs of its' teachers, is in chaos. Staffing elementary buildings haphazardly, is allowing thousands of dollars in books and materials to disappear. LCS states all students should be reading at grade level, but then take away the one resource it had in each building.
